Interactive Visualization of Three-Dimensional Segmented Images for Neurosurgery
نویسندگان
چکیده
Visualization for neurosurgical applications requires speed, realism, and methods for unobtrusive and intuitive interactive exploration. The method presented here uses fast voxel projection to multiple compositing buffers together with a hybrid user interface which includes six degree-of-freedom props.

Visualization for Validation and Improvement of Three-dimensional Segmentation Algorithms
The Berkeley Drosophila Transcription Network Project (BDTNP) is developing a suite of methods that will allow a quantitative description and analysis of three dimensional (3D) gene expression patterns in an animal with cellular resolution. An important component of this approach are algorithms that segment 3D images of an organism into individual nuclei and cells and measure relative levels of...
متن کاملVisualization and analysis of large three-dimensional hyperspectral images
New technologies for Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (SIMS) produce three-dimensional hyperspectral chemical images with high spatial resolution and fine mass-spectral precision. SIMS imaging of biological tissues and cells promises to provide an informational basis for important advances in a wide variety of applications, including cancer treatments. However, the volume and complexity of data ...
متن کاملA Hybrid Method for Segmentation and Visualization of Teeth in Multi-Slice CT scan Images
Introduction: Various computer assisted medical procedures such as dental implant, orthodontic planning, face, jaw and cosmetic surgeries require automatic quantification and volumetric visualization of teeth. In this regard, segmentation is a major step. Material and Methods: In this paper, inspired by our previous experiences and considering the anatomical knowledge of teeth and jaws, we prop...
متن کاملInteractive diffusion tensor tractography visualization for neurosurgical planning.
BACKGROUND Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) infers the trajectory and location of large white matter tracts by measuring the anisotropic diffusion of water. DTI data may then be analyzed and presented as tractography for visualization of the tracts in 3 dimensions. Despite the important information contained in tractography images, usefulness for neurosurgical planning has been limited by the ina...
متن کاملComputer-assisted surgical planning for cerebrovascular neurosurgery.
OBJECTIVE We used three-dimensional reconstructed magnetic resonance images for planning the operations of 16 patients with various cerebrovascular diseases. We studied the cases of these patients to determine the advantages and current limitations of our computer-assisted surgical planning system as it applies to the treatment of vascular lesions. METHODS Magnetic resonance angiograms or thi...
